Hi all,
I hope everyone had a wonderful Spring Break!
There are a number of upcoming events that I need to remind everyone about:
Friday, April 9 – Committee Meeting beginning at 6:30 PM at PPSEL. This is our usual monthly planning meeting that is open to ALL. We have a number of items to talk about including the Summer program. While we don’t have any organized activities for the young ones, everyone is encouraged to come and be part of the team!
Saturday, April 10 – Pinewood Derby “Pre-Inspection” and Test Runs at the Latigo Pavilion from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM. This event is OPTIONAL and will offer EVERYONE the opportunity to stop by and test out their cars. I highly encourage all families who have NOT participated in a Pinewood Derby to stop by and get some tips. The rules for the Pinewood Derby are now posted on the Pack 231 website –
www.MyCubScout.com. Stop by even if the car is still a work in progress (cars with wet paint will not be permitted on the track). This is an informal meeting, so you WILL be able to make adjustments on the car following this event.
Friday, April 16 – 4th Annual Pinewood Derby at PPSEL. Registration is open from 6:30 PM – 6:50 PM with races beginning promptly at 7:00 PM. NO LATE REGISTRATIONS WILL BE ALLOWED. The Tiger Den will have a concession stand open selling hotdogs, chips, and drinks, so come hungry! There will be an open class race (aka “Outlaw” class) that is open to friends and family members. Invite your friends – you might just get them hooked on Scouting!
Saturday, April 17 – Boy Scout Troop 444 Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser from 5:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Latigo Pavilion (13710 Halleluiah Trail, Elbert, CO 80106 – just north of PPSEL in Latigo Trails). This is a fundraiser for a fairly new Boy Scout Troop in our area. Tickets are $5.00 per person (max $25.00 per family) and the menu includes Spaghetti, salad, garlic bread, and drinks. They will also be selling baked goods and other items. While this isn’t an official Pack 231 event, I encourage everyone to come out and support another scouting group in our community. As a bonus, you can get out of cooking dinner for the evening!
That’s all for now. As always, if you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to call me at (719) 232-4334.
Happy Scouting!
